This Cookie Policy explains how Nutians uses cookies and similar technologies such as localStorage. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
Who we are
Nutians is currently developed and operated by an individual developer based in Porto, Portugal. The final legal name, business registration, VAT status, and full postal address will be completed before public launch.
What cookies and similar storage are
Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as browser localStorage, can also store information on your device or read information from it. In this policy, “cookies” includes cookies and similar storage unless we say otherwise.
How we use them
We use only the storage needed to run the website and product, remember your choices, keep accounts secure, and, if you choose to allow it, measure basic product usage. We do not use advertising cookies, behavioural advertising pixels, or cross-site tracking.
Current website storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
nutians.analyticsConsent.v1 | localStorage | Remembers whether you allowed or declined analytics on the landing site. | Until you clear browser storage or we ask again after a policy update. | Not required; used to remember your preference. |
nutians_locale | localStorage | Remembers the language you chose so pages load in it. | Until you clear browser storage. | Not required; strictly a preference setting. |
Analytics on the landing site stays off unless you choose Allow analytics in the banner. If analytics is enabled later, it must respect the choice stored above and must not send nutrition content, profile data, or macro figures to analytics tools.
Product and account cookies
When you use the Nutians app, we may use strictly necessary cookies or equivalent secure storage to:
- keep you signed in;
- protect sessions from abuse;
- remember security and privacy choices;
- route requests and keep the service available.
These are required for the service you request, so they do not require optional cookie consent. We still describe them here for transparency.
Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
The web app’s sign-in and phone-verification pages use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots and protect the SMS verification flow from abuse. Turnstile is a third-party service and may set its own cookies or similar storage while performing its check. This is strictly necessary security storage and is only used on the pages where the check runs. See our Privacy Policy for how Cloudflare processes data.
Optional analytics
Optional analytics, if enabled, is used to understand activation and product reliability, such as completed onboarding or feature usage. It must not include food-log content, body metrics, health details, profile data, or macro figures. Optional analytics storage is off unless you consent where consent is required.
Managing choices
You can accept or decline analytics in the cookie banner. You can also clear your browser storage to reset the choice. When in-app privacy controls are available, you will be able to change analytics preferences via Settings → Privacy.
Browser settings can block or delete cookies and similar storage. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or other core product features from working.
Changes
We will update this policy if our use of cookies or similar technologies materially changes. If a change affects optional analytics or other non-essential storage, we will ask for a fresh choice where required.
